New Website, Society Management System Coming Soon

Phi Theta Kappa is set to unveil a new Society Management System along with its new website in the coming weeks.

The targeted "go live" date, July 22, will reveal a new Society Management System that fully integrates technology services for ptk.org, membership management, the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation and the Phi Theta Kappa Store.

"This is a more usable system not only for us as an organization but also for our advisors, members and donors," said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, Chief Information and Research Officer and Acting Executive Director. "Ultimately it will lessen our manual workloads and allow us to get back to working with and serving our members in a more comprehensive way.

"This is not an IT project; this is a Phi Theta Kappa project, and we will all work together over the coming months to make it a success."

The project has taken one and a half years and approximately $1.2 million to complete. As the Society fully transitions to the new management system, some services and websites will be unavailable July 15-21.

July 22 will also bring a completely redesigned website featuring intuitive navigation, updated content and improved chapter and member management processes. The new website will be responsive, meaning it will self-adjust to the platform on which it is being used (desktop computer versus tablet versus smartphone). It will also feature a calendar that can be synced to your personal calendar, so you'll never miss an important deadline.

"We've tried to incorporate a more user-friendly design, which will make it easier for our advisors and members to find the important information they need on our website," said Clay Meyer, Director of the Marketing and Communications Department at Phi Theta Kappa. "Our goals in redesigning the website are to educate non-members and faculty, recognize our members and celebrate their achievements, and give constituents the tools they need to manage their chapter more efficiently.

"This new site isn't about us; it's about enhancing the experiences of our constituents."
