Don't Miss NerdNation 2015

We're only four months away from NerdNation 2015, Phi Theta Kappa's 97th Annual Convention! Why wait any longer? Go ahead and reserve your spot today!

NerdNation promises to be an experience like none other. Nearly 4,000 Phi Theta Kappa members, advisors, supporters, partners and friends from nearly 500 chapters will gather April 16-18 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, for engagement and networking unmatched elsewhere. It's going to be legendary!

As in John Legend. The Grammy-winning musician will open the event in the first general session, sharing his creative process and performing three songs. His latest album, Love in the Future, gave him his first number one hit with "All of Me."

This will be an experience you do not want to miss. In addition to Legend, Dr. Michio Kaku will also take to the NerdNation stage as the featured speaker in the third general session. Kaku is a futurist, a theoretical physicist and a best-selling author whose goal is to complete Albert Einstein's dream of a "theory of everything," to derive an equation that will summarize all the physical laws of the universe.

A shared general session with the American Association of Community College's Annual Convention will feature Malcolm Gladwell, best-selling author of Blink and Outliers and a staff writer for The New Yorker. This session will also include an address by Phi Theta Kappa Executive Director and CEO Dr. Rod Risley.

Add to that a presentation by 2014-2015 International President Ebonee Carpenter, and you've got a weekend sure to be filled with excitement, engagement, learning - and a lot of fun. It's an exceptional line-up, and it actually starts before NerdNation officially begins - at the Phi Theta Kappa Academy.

The Academy focuses on creativity, its connection to our 2014/2015 Honors Study Topic, Frontiers and the Spirit of Exploration, and the importance of creativity to leadership in areas like innovation, problem-solving and change initiatives. The morning session features Dr. David Burkus, founder and host of the podcast LDRLB, and the afternoon session features cellist Stephanie Winters.

Space is limited for this exciting event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16. The registrations fee for chapter members and officers is $99 and includes lunch, educational materials and exclusive presentations for all Academy registrants. There is no charge for advisors, but pre-registration is required.
