Mulhollen Named Interim Director of Foundation

The Executive Committee of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation Board of Trustees has named Steve Mulhollen as Interim Executive Director and CEO of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation effective August 1.

Mulhollen currently serves as Phi Theta Kappa’s Chief Financial Officer. He will replace Dr. Nancy Rieves, who resigned as the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation Executive Director and CEO in June. Her last day will be July 31.

“Nancy has been a great leader for the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation, raising a tremendous amount of funds to provide scholarships and programs for our members and advisors,” Phi Theta Kappa’s President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner said. “I have no doubt that the Foundation will continue to thrive under Steve’s expert leadership and guidance as we search for a permanent director.”

Prior to joining the headquarters staff in 2011, Mulhollen served as the Society and Foundation's auditor for a regional accounting firm. During the establishment of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation, he provided business advisory services to both the Society and the Foundation.

In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Mulhollen ensured the Foundation's policies and procedures cultivated trust with donors and created a reporting system to ensure transparency. He has been actively involved in the establishments of endowments during his five-year tenure and has assisted in growing the Foundation's assets to more than $6 million. Collectively he has more than 18 years of business and accounting experience and is actively involved in the community, serving on boards of local not-for-profits.

Mulhollen received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Business Administration and Certificate of Accounting from Mississippi College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

“Nancy built the Foundation from the ground up, and we will miss her greatly,” Mulhollen said. “I’m eager to step in and continue the good work she started so we as an organization can continue providing our members and advisors with scholarships and opportunities that are unmatched.”
