Graham Named to PTK Advisory Board

Jackson, Mississippi — Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) announces the appointment of Dr. Mary S. Graham, president of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, to its Presidential Advisory Board.

She joins 37 other college presidents from across the nation on the board and will provide input into the organization’s strategic plan, priorities, and direction.

Advisory Board members advocate for Phi Theta Kappa, its members, and its mission; serve as liaisons between PTK headquarters and the college leaders in their states; and advise the Society’s CEO and other senior leaders.

Graham became the 12th president of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) in 2011. The 100-year-old, multi-campus institution serves more than 36,000 residents annually in its four-county district.

A native of Mississippi, Graham earned her doctorate in higher education administration from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees are from USM as well. An MGCCC graduate and alumna, she has held several administrative positions within the college including director of admissions/registrar and director of institutional relations.

Graham previously served as vice president of the Perkinston Campus for 13 years and as vice president of the Community Campus, which provides workforce development to business and industry within the district.

A well- known presenter at local, state and national conferences, Graham has participated in state and national presidential leadership programs. She serves as chair of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), and the Mississippi Business Journal named her one of the 50 Leading Business Women in Mississippi.
