2008 All-USA Academic Team Announced

Members of the 2008 All-USA Academic First, Second and Third Teams are now listed on the Phi Theta Kappa website. The All-USA First Team members were recognized April 6 during the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Convention in Philadelphia. Also honored during the Phi Theta Kappa and AACC Conventions' Joint Session were the 2008 New Century Scholars, the students ranking highest in the All-USA Academic Team competition in each of the 50 states. Students are nominated for the All-USA Academic Team competition by their community colleges. The 20 First Team members are awarded scholarship stipends of $2,500 each. New Century Scholars are presented stipends of $2,000 each. All Team members receive extensive media recognition, and a majority of the All-USA Academic Team nominees are recognized through the All-State Team Program. Nomination materials for the All-USA Academic Team are mailed to college administrators in October of each year.
