2009 Honors Case Study Challenge Winners Named
One member and three chapters were recognized during the recent Convention
in Grapevine, Texas, as 2009 winners of the Honors
Case Study Challenge, sponsored by USA TODAY and Phi Theta Kappa.
Participants use print editions of USA TODAY to develop case studies based
on the Society's Honors
Study Topic.
Winners for 2009 include Claire Garrett, Phi Beta Chapter, College
of DuPage, Illinois, for "Microlending: Lending Opportunity"; Alpha
Kappa Alpha Chapter, Normandale Community College, Minnesota, for "The
Cost of Human Life: Is it Worth It?"; Beta Theta Omicron Chapter, Skyline
College, California, for "Sustaining Natural Capital in an Affluent World:
Will More Become Less?"; and Beta Epsilon Phi Chapter, Northeast Iowa Community
College, Iowa, for "ICE, Obstacles, and Immigration's Contribution to
Everyone."
