2008 New Century Scholars Announced

Fifty outstanding community college students will be recognized as 2008 New Century Scholars, during the joint session of the Phi Theta Kappa and American Association of Community Colleges conventions, scheduled April 5 in Philadelphia. The students scoring highest in the All-USA Academic Team competition in each state are chosen New Century Scholars, and will receive scholarships of $2,000 each, funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. The All-USA Academic Team for 2008 will be announced April 7. The program is sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, the American Association of Community Colleges and USA TODAY.
