Members May Apply for Georgetown Summer Program
Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., invites Phi Theta Kappa members
to apply for the summer Semester in Washington Program in Law. Phi Theta
Kappa members admitted to the program will receive a one-credit scholarship.
This new program will select a small number of undergraduate students who
are interested in exploring the practical side of a pre-law program through
an internship and seminar experience. Students work as interns Monday-Friday
and meet once a week for class. Georgetown University helps students find
and secure full-time, substantive internships, based on the students'
individual academic and professional goals. Students earn three credits
for the internship and accompanying academic seminar, "Law: Ethics and
Leadership." For an additional three credits, students can either enroll
in a summer course at Georgetown or take a research seminar offered only
to Semester in Washington Program students. Program dates are June 2-August
9. Students can live in Georgetown
housing. Tuition is $965.00 per credit. One-credit scholarships
are awarded to admitted Phi Theta Kappa members. Applications and complete
eligibility requirements may be found
online. Visit the Georgetown
University website to learn more about the spring 2009 Semester
in Washington Program or contact Assistant Dean Barbara
Wolf at 202.687.8722. Wolf is a Phi Theta Kappa alumna and former
International Officer.
