"A Healing Journey: Exploring Eastern Health Practice"Professor Fox will obtain certification in and deeper knowledge of Chinese medicine theory and Jin Shin: The Tara Approach through completion of courses offered through the Traditional Chinese World Foundation and Dr. Stephanie Mines, founder of Jin Shin: The Tara Approach. She is particularly interested in the application of energy medicine and the use of language designed to resolve the physiological, neurological, emotional, psychological, and spiritual impacts of shock and trauma. Fox will develop curriculum for a cornerstone course called "The Dragon's Way: Exploring Eastern Health Practice."
Sharon Gusky

"More than just Kangaroos: Experiencing Australia's Biodiversity"Professor Gusky will travel to Australia to serve on an Earthwatch research team during Australia's Forrest Marsupials Expedition. From her work, she will develop curriculum for classroom lectures and exercises on biogeography and its relationship to biodiversity and conservation. She will study Australia's marsupial mammals and document her work with photographs and writings. Gusky will share her work with her colleagues and Northwestern Connecticut Community College students through a series of presentations.

Dr. Peter J. Pellegrin

"The Implementation of Native American Traditions Into the Roman Catholic Liturgy"Dr. Pellegrin will examine how Native American traditions are being implemented into the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church in North America. He will visit churches in Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Idaho, Washington State, and lower Alaska to witness the liturgies and conduct interviews with members of the congregations and priests. Pellegrin will photograph and video, when permission is granted, his interview subjects, and from this interviews will develop a lecture for the Salina Diocese Summer Institute and a scholarly article.

"The Art of Autobiography: Gathering, Analyzing, Teaching, Writing"Professor Ryan plans to read a series of autobiographies, analyze them and catalogue passages that exemplify period, age, and themes such as "challenge," "coming of age," "curiosity," "friendship," "love," and "education." Her work will result in the development of curriculum for an autobiography class, creation of a community organization for memoir writers, and an autobiography. In addition to her extensive reading list, she will take a class in autobiography at Fresno State University and travel to Kepler's in San Francisco for their small group opportunities to speak with authors.
Dr. Donna J. Singleton

"Exploring Creativity across Disciplines: The Teacher as Student of Composition and Art"Dr. Singleton will study the nature of creativity as it applies to composition and art for an increased personal understanding and for application in her composition classroom. She will participate in Bard College's "Writing and Thinking" workshop as well as a painting workshop offered at the Acadia Workshop Center. Singleton is particularly interested in reaching high school and college composition teachers. The manifestation of that understanding will be in the form of a scholarly article, professional presentation, and classroom curricula.
Jeffery Scott Wooters

"Researching Nesting Success in Hawksbill Sea Turtles on the Great Barrier Reef"Professor Wooters will participate in an Earthwatch expedition, led by sea turtle researcher Ian Bell, at Milman Island in the far northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef to study Hawksbill Sea Turtles. He will collect data to determine if the recently implemented conservation strategies are stabilizing the Australian population of Hawksbills. Wooters will develop curriculum to enhance his marine biology class, and his work in Australia will also enhance his volunteer service as a sea turtle nest monitor.
