Dr. Brent L. Kendrick

Dr. Brent L. Kendrick is a professor of English at Lord Fairfax Community College and winner of the 2005 Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development (NISOD). Kendrick has served as Phi Theta Kappa advisor for four years. He received the Paragon Award for New Advisors in 2006 and is a certified instructor for the Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Program.
He is a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College where he received his Bachelor's degree in Humanities and the University of South Carolina where he received his doctoral degree in English.
Kendrick's award-winning project is "Celebrating 400 Years of Virginia Writers: John Smith to Lee Smith." Kendrick will develop a course of study that will encourage students' critical appreciation of Virginia literature by exploring its continuity and position within the larger context of American history and culture.
