Dr. Ranjana Segal, a professor of chemistry, has served as chapter advisor for the Beta Delta Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Tarrant County College - Southeast Campus since 1996. She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her research, teaching and community service, including selection to attend the Houston Summer Seminar in Science and the Junior Research Scholarship from India's Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. She has also been published in such publications as The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Inorganica Chimica Acta.

Dr. Segal will use her Mosal Award to complete a project entitled "Small Scale Chemistry: Integrating Lectures and Laboratory Experiments." The project will allow her to further her knowledge of small-scale chemistry experiments so that she can develop a set of experiments that will integrate lectures and labs for college students.
