North Carolina Chapter Encourages All Students to Aspire to Membership
Evelyn Hall, chapter advisor at Vance-Granville Community College, says
her college administration was thrilled when they found out the chapter
had set a new record for inductions this spring. The North Carolina chapter
focused on promoting the benefits of membership to students on their campus,
and spent the last year working to increase the chapter's visibility and
encouraging students to strive towards earning membership. For example,
during campus events, members distribute information cards to students,
showing the academic requirements to earn membership and benefits available
to members. Evelyn believes that spreading the word about Phi Theta Kappa
to all students encourages them to work toward earning their invitations
to the Society. The chapter has increased their membership by 30% so far
this year, and earned recognition as a 2004
Pinnacle Gold Chapter. Enroll
