Become a Faculty Scholar
Applications are due Friday, September 20.
All Phi Theta Kappa advisors and regional coordinators are eligible to apply, except those who served as Faculty Scholars in both 2012 and 2013.
Check the application for full eligibility requirements, obligations, duties and benefits, as well as the selection criteria.
Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors and Regional Coordinators are invited to submit applications to serve as Faculty Scholars. Faculty Scholars will act as seminar leaders at Phi Theta Kappa's International Honors Institute, and they will also attend a three-day preparation conference.
This year, for the first and only time, the three-day Faculty Scholar Conference will be held in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. A valid passport is required for 2014 Faculty Scholars.
All advisors are eligible to apply except those who were chosen as Faculty Scholars in the past two years.
"Serving as a Faculty Scholar is an ideal way to become more involved in the Society, and also allows community college teachers and staff to grow academically and assume leadership roles. We encourage all advisors, including new advisors and those who have not previously participated in honors programming opportunities to apply," said Dean of Academic Affairs and Honors Programs Susan Edwards.
Faculty Scholar selection is based on the quality of the application and experience in facilitating small group discussions.
