Calling All Phi Theta Kappa Performing Artists
Here's your opportunity to be part of the Democratization of Information
presentation at Phi Theta Kappa's 2010 Convention in Orlando.
At
the Convention we'll be focusing on a new Honors Study Topic, The Democratization
of Information: Power, Peril, and Promise. One aspect of the democratization
of information is that we are no longer bound by space and time to communicate,
come together and share experiences and knowledge.
So we're
inviting all members, alumni, chapters, states, regions, and divisions
to be part of a practical demonstration of the new Topic. Using a format similar
to that used by "Playing for Change," Phi Theta Kappa will create a multimedia
presentation of the song "What A Wonderful World." We'll feature members
and advisors singing, dancing and coming together in a blended performace
to promote fellowship through information sharing.
To access
more examples of integrated performances visit the Democratization
of Information Music Video Project page on Facebook,
where you can also download the skeleton audio and video tracks of the song
and sheet music to chart your arrangement.
The submission deadline
is January 4, 2010. The presentation will be part of a Convention General
Session. You do not have to attend the Convention to participate.
