From historic music sites
to museums and parks the city of Nashville never offers a dull moment for
visitors.
Music fans can start off their day by visiting the
Country
Music Hall of Fame and Museum, located in the heart of downtown
Nashville. And of course, any music fan's visit wouldn't be complete without
a trip to the Grand Ole Opry.
Standing in the center of Centennial Park, the Parthenon
is a full-scale replica of the Athenian original and functions as an art
museum. A 42-foot statue of Athena Parthenos is the central focus of the
structure.
Right around the corner, the Frist
Center for the Visual Arts displays the finest visual art and exhibitions
from around the world.
History buffs can step back in time when
they visit historic plantation homes Belle
Meade, Belmont
and the Hermitage,
the Greek revival restored home of President Andrew Jackson.
Visit
the Adventure Science
Center for an educational thrill ride that combines science,
fun and adventure for those still young at heart. The Nashville
Zoo at Grassmere is the perfect opportunity for visitors to get
up close and personal with over 350 of the zoo's animals.
Finally,
pick up some Nashville souvenirs at one of the city's many shopping facilities.
Shops inside the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center have convenient
shopping hours while the Opry
Mills outlet mall is within walking distance and has more than
200 vendors. The historic shopping district of Hillsboro
Village offers unique shops and eateries from local merchants.
