Honors in Action Project Benefits Convention Host City
A Phi Theta Kappa Honors in Action project will benefit the 2009 International
Convention host city of Grapevine, Texas - and even chapters not
able to attend the Convention may participate.
Chapters attending
the Convention are invited to bring flower, herb and vegetable seeds to
beautify the Grapevine area and for Earth Week environmental activities
in local elementary schools. Honors
in Action projects integrate the Society
Hallmarks through scholarly inquiry and research related to
the Honors Study Topic,
leadership to increase awareness and service to the community.
All
seeds will be donated to Keep Grapevine Beautiful, local affiliate of Phi
Theta Kappa's International
Service Program partner, Keep
America Beautiful (KAB). Participants may leave seed donations
in the Convention's Academic Marketplace.
Honors
in Action Academy participants will also participate in cleanup
efforts in the Grapevine area. The Honors in Action Academy is held just
prior to the Convention and is open to all advisors and members attending.
Registration
information is available on the Convention website. The International
Convention will be held April 16-18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention
Center in Grapevine.
