Catch Powerful Performances at Convention!

Expect an exciting assortment of musical performances at Phi Theta Kappa's 2007 International Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. From country music to jazz, this year's entertainment lineup will be one not to miss!

The 2007 International Convention will be held April 12-14 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Phi Theta Kappa member Naomi Morrison will open the First Session on Thursday, April 12, with a medley of In My Tennessee Mountain Home and Rocky Top. A member at Motlow State Community College in Tennessee, Morrison performs professionally at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge. Morrison also entertained the crowd at Phi Theta Kappa's 2005 International Convention in Dallas, Texas.

During the First General Session, cancer survivor and platinum selling country singer Kevin Sharp will perform a solo following his Convention address. A cancer survivor since 1991, Sharp was influenced to pursue a music career when he met a producer through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Determined to never give up on his dreams, Sharp now serves as spokesman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Syncopation, the jazz and vocal show choir from Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee will sing a collection of Broadway hits during the Second General Session on Friday, April 13. Syncopation has recently performed for the Tina Turner Telethon, the Tennessee State Board of Regents, local high schools and fundraisers in Tennessee.

Preston Schmidt, Phi Theta Kappa's 2006-07 International Vice President-Division III, will treat audience members with his own fiddle composition at the Third General Session on Friday, April 13. Student musicians from Eastern Tennessee State University will accompany Schmidt during the performance. A member at Bismarck State College in North Dakota, Schmidt is an award-winning fiddle player who has been playing the instrument since he was three years old.

Center Stage, a choreographed vocal and instrumental ensemble from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi, will perform at a Hallmark Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 14. This high energy group provides harmonious vocals, covering a wide variety of music and dance styles. Center Stage performs at local high schools and several functions throughout Mississippi.

The Regional Officer Choir will open the Hallmark Awards Gala on Saturday night with a special performance featuring Phi Theta Kappa members Mollie Lynne and Joel Weaver. Lynne is a member at Tallahassee Community College in Florida and Weaver is the Oklahoma/Arkansas Regional President and a member at Carl Albert State College in Oklahoma.

Brady Redfearn, Northeast California Vice President of the Nevada/California Region and Phi Theta Kappa chapter officer at Butte College in California, will close the Hallmark Awards Gala with the Phi Theta Kappa song.
