Honors Institute Attendees Will Spend a Day in San Francisco
Phi Theta Kappa members and advisors attending the 2008 Honors
Institute will enjoy a day in San Francisco, with round-trip public
transportation and admissions to many attractions provided.
On
Thursday, June 19, "R&R Day," Honors Institute attendees may travel by
"muni," San Francisco's public transportation system, to the heart of
the city's downtown area. A "Go San Francisco Card" and funds to purchase
a roundtrip "muni" pass will be provided to all attendees. Brochures and
maps will be distributed at Monday's registration to help participants
plan their day.
The Go San Francisco pass provides free general
admission to such attractions as the Golden Gate Bay Cruise, Wax Museum
at Fisherman's Wharf, National Liberty Ship S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien,
Aquarium of the Bay, Exploratorium, Haas-Lilienthal House, Beat Museum,
Chinese Historical Society of America, Asian Art Museum, Cartoon Art Museum,
Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Legion of Honor, de
Young Museum, multiple walking tours, and much more.
Attractions
are limited to one admission per day with the card, which is valid from 9:00
am through 5:00 pm.
The Go San Francisco pass also will allow
Honors Institute participants to ride the trolleys in some areas of the
city, running through 1:30 pm.
Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown,
which offer numerous dining and shopping options, and the Cable Car route,
are other attractions that no visitor to the city should miss.
