Honors in Action Academy Returns for 2010 Convention
Phi Theta Kappa's Honors in Action Academy, introduced at the 2009 Convention,
will again be held in 2010, one day prior to the 2010 Convention in Orlando.
Honors
in Action integrates the Phi Theta Kappa Hallmarks of Scholarship,
Leadership, Service and Fellowship by initiating projects related to
the Honors Study Topic.
Chapters and individuals may conduct research to determine a need and use
leadership skills to make a difference through service.
The
Honors in Action Academy, open to any person registered for the 2010 Convention,
provides interactive instruction in all phases of the Honors in Action
projects. In 2009, participants discussed research concerning environmental
issues in the host city of Grapevine, Texas, formulated action plans and
assisted Keep Grapevine Beautiful in a number of cleanup and beautification
efforts. See online
coverage and photos
of the 2009 event.
Although registration for the 2010 Convention
is open, registration for the 2010 Honors in Action Academy will open later
in the summer, prior to the fall academic term.

website and Golden Key News Briefs for information about the 2010 Honors
