To find new fundraisers, chapters often need to look no further then their college campus or local community! Many companies offer fundraisers or fundraising assistance to non-profit groups. There are also numerous websites that list easy and effective fundraisers. With a little bit of research, chapters can find the perfect fundraiser to meet their needs.
- Wal-Mart® stores across the country have helped community clubs and organizations by matching the amount raised from fundraisers held outside local Wal-Mart stores.
- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts® offers four fundraising options: doughnut sales, certificate sales, partnership cards, and coffee sales.
- Some stores, like Barnes and Noble®, allow non-profit groups to wrap gifts in the store during the holidays. The stores provide wrapping supplies and the chapter keeps all donations.
- Many chain restaurants, such as Pizza Hut® and Dominos Pizza®, offer discount cards for sale by local non-profit groups.
- Everyone plans to spend more money during the holidays, so consider holiday sales on campus or in the community, such as carnations for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, recycled wrapping paper or gift baskets during the holidays.
- Several chapters have found success with inexpensive “flamingo flocking.” An embarrassing item, such as a group of pink flamingos, a neon toilet or even an aluminum Christmas tree, is placed in front of a faculty member’s office. An attached note states that for a $10 donation, Phi Theta Kappa will remove the object, and for a $15 donation, the person may choose the next destination of the flamingos.
