There are many advantages associated with being an active chapter officer, including opportunities to sharpen skills in leadership development and provide community service. Officer benefits vary from chapter to chapter, so check with your advisor for information on benefits exclusive to your chapter.
Complimentary Resource Packets for Presidents
Upon being reported to Headquarters, all chapter presidents will receive a Chapter Resource Packet, containing the following publications: Chapter Resource Manual, Honors Study Topic Guide, International Service Program Guide, Phi Theta Kappa Membership Benefits & Scholarship Guide, Five Star Chapter Development Program Guide, Hallmark Awards Brochure and Recognitions catalog.
Online Chapter Resource Manuals
All chapter officers may view or print the Chapter Resource Manual online at www.ptk.org/chapters/resources. Limited quantities of the Chapter Resource Packet are also available for purchase through Recognitions.
Letter of Recommendation Service
Phi Theta Kappa members may request a letter of recommendation from Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters for potential employers or college admissions officials to confirm membership. Officers receive an enhanced letter stating the leadership role(s) held.
Chapter Officer Press Release
Officers may submit the online press release form at Phi Theta Kappa Get Connected at getconnected.ptk.org/, to send a press release to local newspapers announcing their election.
