Letters of Recommendation and Newspaper Press Releases – Valuable Member Benefits

Phi Theta Kappa is the official honor society for two-year colleges according to the American Association of Community Colleges. Phi Theta Kappa also holds membership in the prestigious Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) as the only general scholarship honor society representing two-year colleges. Accepting membership into this prestigious honor society exemplifies a member’s scholarly achievement and a dedication to leadership and service.

One of the many benefits of membership in Phi Theta Kappa is that when the time comes for a member to apply for a job or admission to a four-year college, they can request a personalized Letter of Recommendation from the Society’s Executive Director, Rod A. Risley. This Letter of Recommendation is sent directly to the employer or college and details the mission and history of the Society, and the member’s high academic achievement and individual growth through Phi Theta Kappa’s service program opportunities.

Another member benefit is the Newspaper Press Release. The Newspaper Press Release is sent directly to the member’s designated local newspaper announcing their induction into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Letters of Recommendation and Newspaper Press Releases are two important ways to celebrate your membership and reward your achievements. To learn more about these and all the other benefits of Phi Theta Kappa membership, go to http://getconnected.ptk.org.
