Dee Lauzon
Division IV International Vice President
Dee Lauzon is Phi Theta Kappa's 2008-2009 International Vice President - Division IV. Lauzon was inducted into the Sigma Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.
She has served as the chapter's President Elect and President, and a Southern Vice President for the Rocky Mountain-Cascade Region.
As a new member of Phi Theta Kappa, Lauzon developed a project called Harvest Baskets, which provided complete Thanksgiving meals to 15 Lane Community College families in its first year. In 2007, when Lauzon was chapter President, the project fed 22 families, allowing some persons to celebrate the holiday with their children for the first time in three years.
Lauzon also initiated a campus beautification project, inspired by a casual remark by the college vice president. Lauzon secured donations of 648 bulbs, which were planted in the fall and in bloom this spring.
As a regional vice president, Lauzon organized a regional beach clean-up weekend that included a Myers-Briggs Personality Type test and leadership instruction, thus incorporating all four Hallmarks.
Lauzon is studying for an associate of arts Oregon transfer degree and will pursue a career in Forensic Pathology. She plans to obtain a master's degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Her hobbies are silk screening, softball and singing. She has two adult children and a grandson.
