Shamil Mirzoev is Phi Theta Kappa's International Vice President - Division III. Mirzoev was inducted into the Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mirzoev came to the United States from Russia. Growing up in a Communist society gave him a strong appreciation for life in the United States. He has been studying English for 3-1/2 years.

Mirzoev is President of his Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and also serves as a volunteer math instructor for high school dropouts and adult learners at a Rochester adult and family literacy center.

A Black Belt in Judo and a former champion judo wrestler in Russia, he teaches young people at a martial arts fitness center. Mirzoev also tutors high school students in Calculus/Statistics, is an editor for the adult and family literacy center newsletter, and is an instructor's assistant in the local school district.

Mirzoev is majoring in liberal arts with plans to earn a bachelor's degree in Business. He hopes to obtain master's degrees in International Business and Business Administration, and wants to create an international school for orphans.
