Arthur Vargas
International President

Arthur Vargas is Phi Theta Kappa's 2005-06 International President. Arthur was inducted into the Alpha Gamma Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas.
After serving in the United States Air Force, where he worked in accounting and finance, Arthur returned to college and is pursuing dual degrees. He is currently enrolled in visual communications of graphic design and previously received an associate degree in art.
He plans a career in advertising and public relations, and his goal is to start his own advertising agency. Arthur may also seek public office.
Arthur was recognized as a Distinguished Chapter President in the Hallmark Awards Program and was selected for the Texas Hall of Honor. He was Texas Regional President in 2004-2005, when Texas was named a Distinguished Region.
Arthur was selected for the 2004 All-Texas Academic Team and is a recipient of the 2004 Coca-Cola Scholarship.
He serves as a Legislative Ambassador for the American Cancer Society. In his free time Arthur enjoys drawing and painting.
