John Windham
International President
John Windham is Phi Theta Kappa's 2008-2009 International President. John is a member of Phi Theta Kappa at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.
Windham has held the office of chapter Vice President of Public Relations. An Emergency Medical Technician and a certified Firefighter, Windham is a nontraditional student who returned to school after a six-year hiatus.
He won the 2008 International Essay contest sponsored by the Community College Baccalaureate Association with an essay on providing bachelor's programs through community colleges. Windham is majoring in Health and Human Services Management. He is currently on full scholarship provided by the Student Life Activities Grant. Windham will complete an associate degree in Business at Pima Community College by the end of his term in office.
Windham is an avid believer in basic human rights such as healthcare and personal freedoms, and equality for all persons regardless of beliefs, orientation, sex or race. He takes a particular interest in the arts and believes a message is best portrayed and received through symbolism, poetry or music in order to make the most impact and fully express the ideas of the presenter.
Windham hopes to transfer to Eller Business College and major in Health and Human Services Management while working as an E.M.T. and eventually pursue a Juris Doctorate at Harvard Law School or Yale Law School, with a focus on Human Rights.
