The Honors Study Topic is the foundation for implementing the Society’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. The 2008-2010 topic is The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences. The Honors Study Topic is a timely, interdisciplinary and issue-driven subject, international in scope, chosen to promote discourse and debate through the various applications of the Honors Program.
Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors Programs seek to enrich the academic experience of Phi Theta Kappans through the Honors Study Topic and the programs which emanate from it, including the annual International Honors Institute and Honors Seminar Series, and the Honors Case Study Challenge competition.
Through the International Service Program, Phi Theta Kappa unites a virtual army of scholars in a global effort to impact a specific need, by focusing the Society’s commitment to service toward a common goal, related to the Honors Study Topic.
Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Programs build and equip the next generation of leaders at the grassroots level.
