2013 Community College Humanities Association National Conference
October 24-26, 2013
Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Development Instructors will convene at the Leading Edge Institute concurrently with the 2013 Community College Humanities Association National Conference, October 24 – 26, 2013, in Louisville, Kentucky, at The Brown Hotel. The Leading Edge Institute is designed for Certified Leadership Development Instructors to exchange innovative ideas, viewpoints, and resources with each other.
The Institute goals are to:
- Highlight best practices in the Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Studies classroom
- Focus on innovative integration of Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Studies in community college programs and initiatives
- Provide a professional, scholarly environment to enhance training and networking opportunities for Certified Leadership Development Instructors
- Present forums for exploring new concepts in leadership development
In 2013, the Leading Edge Institute sessions will focus on introducing the exciting changes coming in the 5th Edition of Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Studies: A Humanities Approach.
In addition, Institute attendees will gain critical insights and invaluable ideas from a dynamic lineup of presenters at the 2013 Community College Humanities Association National Conference focusing on "Navigating Place, Time, and Change through the Humanities." Presentation Schedule
Registration for the CCHA National Conference is $260, and includes a reception and two luncheons, two keynote addresses and all CCHA and Leading Edge Institute break-out sessions. Registration deadline is October 10, 2013.
Registration for the Leading Edge Institute should be made through CCHA. Be sure to indicate on the registration form that you are a Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Development Instructor and that you plan to attend Phi Theta Kappa's Humanities-based Leadership Development Studies Program Pre-Conference Workshop.

The CCHA Conference is located in the historic Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. The exclusive CCHA conference room rate is $155 plus local taxes per night for single and double rooms. All guests will receive complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access. Register online through the group portal, or to reserve by telephone, call 888.888.5252 and identify yourself as an attendee of the CCHA 2013 National Conference to receive the conference rate.
Reservations must be made on or before September 22, 2013. Any reservations made after the cut-off date will be accepted on an available space and rate basis only.
Airport Shuttle & Parking
Louisville International Airport (Standiford Field, airport code SDF) is just six miles away, and hotel guests receive complimentary van shuttle service to and from the airport 24 hours a day. For those coming to The Brown Hotel by car, parking is available in an attached enclosed garage. Overnight self- parking is $20.00 per night, and overnight valet parking is $24.00 per night. Parking fees are current and subject to change without notice.
