Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society celebrates its 91st birthday this year. The Society was founded in 1918 by college presidents, and officially recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges in 1929. Visit the Founders Day website to learn more about Phi Theta Kappa’s history.

The College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska, will offer a varying number of $1,000 scholarships to members of Phi Theta Kappa.  Visit CollegeFish.org for information on these scholarships and other scholarship opportunities for Phi Theta Kappa members.

Candidate Applications for 2010-2011 International Officer positions are now available. Phi Theta Kappa members interested in seeking 2010-2011 International Officer positions may submit requests in writing to Dean of Service Learning Jennifer Stanford by email or by fax to 912.826.7005. Completed Officer Candidate Applications must be received at International Headquarters by February 24, 2010. Requests should include the member’s mailing address, email address, daytime telephone number, college and chapter, and the office the member plans to seek. Phi Theta Kappa continues to grow, with new chapters recently chartered at Oxnard College in California, at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Wisconsin and at Northeast Lakeview College in Texas. Two new alumni chapters have also been chartered, on the campuses of the University of Texas – Tyler and at the University of South Florida – Sarasota/Manatee.
