Chapter Resource DVD

Phi Theta Kappa's first Chapter Resource DVD, containing a collection of media tools to recruit new members and encourage participation in Society programs, is now available for ordering from Recognition Services. The cost is $20. Order the DVD online at Recognitions Online.

The contents of the Chapter Resource DVD are:

• "Good as Gold" New Member Recruitment Video
  The video features the Phi Theta Kappa story, told by members, advisors and alumni, who cite the role the Honor Society has played in their education and in their lives. Designed primarily as a resource to be shown at orientations for prospective members, the video is also ideal for showing at induction ceremonies, faculty development programs, informational meetings with college administrators and community events.   If you do not have access to a DVD player, the New Member Recruitment Video is available in VHS format.
  
  
• New Member Orientation Slide Presentation
  This professional slide presentation is designed for showing at orientations for prospective members. The presentation provides the most current information about Phi Theta Kappa membership benefits. A PowerPoint version of the slide presentation and an accompanying narrative script may be downloaded.
  
  
• Invitation to Prospective Members
  This brief message of invitation from Executive Director Rod Risley to students eligible for membership may be used at prospective member orientations.
  
  
• The Phi Theta Kappa Song, Listen to the song, mp3 download.
  The lyrics and two renditions of the first stanza and chorus of The Phi Theta Kappa Song are suitable for playing at Induction Ceremonies or other formal Society events.
  
  
• International Convention Video Highlights
  Selected highlights from three previous Phi Theta Kappa International Conventions - 2001, 2002 and 2003 - may be used to showcase the Convention experience for members, advisors and college administrators.
  
  
• Honors Satellite Seminar Video Highlights
  These excerpts show chapter members and college administrators how the series may be used to enhance honors education and help facilitate community outreach.
  
  
• Project Graduation Video
  The "Project Graduation" Promotional Video explains the mission and impact of Phi Theta Kappa's end-of-the-year community service initiative, held in conjunction with spring commencement ceremonies.
  
  
• "Bonus" Track: "Good as Gold"
  This original song was written and performed by member Kim Char Meredith of Hawaii at the 2003 International Convention, to introduce the "Good as Gold" visibility campaign.
  
  

Tips for Viewing the Video Excerpt

• To access the video highlights, you must have Windows Media Player. It is available as a free download.
• Shut down all other programs before downloading the video highlights.
• If possible, view the video highlights with a high-speed modem connection.
