2002 Board of Directors Alumni Achievement Award

The Phi Theta Kappa Board of Directors Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to an alumnus in recognition of his or her contributions in support of the Society's membership on the local, national and international levels.

Leanne JardineThe recipient of the 2002 Board of Directors Alumni Achievement Award is Leanne Jardine, New York Regional Coordinator and a longtime Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisor. The award is presented in recognition of Jardine's outstanding leadership in the Society, with special emphasis on her contributions to the alumni program, the honors program and to special projects.

Leanne Jardine was inducted into the Lambda Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York.

She is a Professor of Business at Herkimer County Community College in Herkimer, New York, where she has served as the chapter advisor to the Upsilon Epsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa for 16 years.

For the past five years, Jardine has served as the Regional Coordinator of the New York Region.

As New York Regional Coordinator, Jardine developed and implemented a model program for successful utilization of Society alumni and alumni associations to promote and support the mission of the two-year college chapters and the New York Region.

Jardine played a leading role in coordinating the Phi Theta Kappa effort to raise funds for the Borough of Manhattan Community College, which was damaged during the terrorist attacks on September 11. The combined efforts of the Phi Theta Kappa chapters raised more than $14,000 for the school.

Jardine and her husband, Rich Jardine, recently endowed a lecture in support of the Society's International Honors Institute.
