Phi Theta Kappa 2000 Honors Institute
The 33rd Annual International Honors Institute will be held at the University of San Diego in California, from June 18 through June 25, 2000. The University is in close proximity to the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the Stephen Birch Aquarium and Museum, Sea World and the Pacific coastline and beaches.
Honors Institute participants will study the 2000-2001 Honors Study Topic, "In the Midst of Water: Origin and Destiny of Life." The reference to water as the origin of life refers both to the Biblical creation story and to the biological fact that there could be no life without water. The word destiny suggests how critical the preservation, conservation and use of water will be in the future.
