Getting from SFSU to downtown San Francisco

The M-Oceanview Muni Metro runs from the east side of the San Francisco State University campus at 19th Ave. and Hollway Ave. to the Ferry Building in downtown San Francisco at the Embarcadero stop off Market St.

To ride the muni metro from the SFSU campus, walk to the east side of campus where 19th Ave. and Holloway Ave. intersect. Cross the street and wait on the opposite side of the SFSU muni stop (side furthest from the campus). Since Thursday, June 19, is a free transit day in San Francisco, purchasing muni tickets is not required.  If using the muni on other days during Institute, the cost of a one-way trip is $1.50. The tickets are only valid for 90 minutes after purchase. Upon leaving San Francisco to return to the SFSU campus, purchase your return ticket at one of the stations below.

The first pick-up at SFSU is at 5:40 am. The muni runs about every 10 minutes until around midnight and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Feel free to get off the muni at any of the following stations in downtown San Francisco off Market St. Use these stations also to make your return trip to the SFSU campus. Departures from the station occur about every 10 minutes.
