Go San Francisco Day
On Thursday, June 19, Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring a trip into the heart of San Francisco for all Institute attendees. A Go San Francisco Card and free muni transportation from SFSU to downtown San Francisco will be provided to all attendees on Thursday at 6:30 - 8:30 am in the Towers at Centennial Square lobby. Brochures and maps will be distributed at registration to help participants plan their day.
On Thursday, June 19, in an effort to educate people about air pollution and to encourage them to change their behavior to prevent it, the city is sponsoring a free transit day, Spare the Air. Learn more about the city’s Spare the Air initiative.
Once in San Francisco, participants are encouraged to spend the day touring the many attractions that are included in the Go San Francisco Card. Take advantage of the hop-on, hop-off trolley tours (hop-on/off option ends at 1:30 pm). The pass provides free general admission to many of San Francisco’s top attractions such as the Golden Gate Bay Cruise, Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf, National Liberty Ship S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien, Aquarium of the Bay, Exploratorium, Haas-Lilienthal House, Beat Museum, Chinese Historical Society of America, Asian Art Museum, Cartoon Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Legion of Honor, de Young Museum, multiple walking tours, and much more. Attractions are limited to one admission per day with the card, which is valid from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Institute participants are responsible for lunch and dinner on Thursday. Take this opportunity to taste the foods of San Francisco. Dining options are endless. For a wide selection, visith the many restaurants located at Fisherman’s Wharf.
The City Eats Dining Center will be open on Thursday for those wishing to eat on campus. Meal times and prices for Thursday are as follows:
Lunch - $8.25
11:00 - 1:30 pm
Dinner - $9.00
5:00 - 7:00 pm
