2014 Honors Institute Travel Info
For directions using GPS or transportation by taxi use the following address: Washington University, 6618 Shepley Drive, St. Louis, Missouri. For taxis you may also request the Clock Tower area on the Washington University Campus.
ARRIVE: Monday afternoon, June 16, 2014
Check-In begins at 1:00 pm in Ursa’s Fireside. Ursa’s is located between Lien House and Gregg House on Shepley Drive. Shepley Drive is between Big Bend Boulevard and Wallace Drive. This is also the location of the Clock Tower, which is a campus landmark. Plan to arrive by 4:00 pm CT on Monday afternoon. The First General Session starts Monday at 6:30 pm. Please note that participants arriving prior to Monday, June 16, must make plans for their accommodations off campus prior to June 16. Dinner will be available in the Washington University cafeteria beginning at 5:00 pm.
Late Night Arrivals: Participants arriving after midnight should go to the campus police department on Shepley Drive and indicate that they are attending the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Institute and need to check in. Campus police staff will contact staff to let late arrivals into the residence halls.

The Honors Institute officially ends on Friday night, June 20, following the final seminar meeting and Farewell Social. Program participants who have not vacated their rooms by 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, will be assessed a $200.00 fee. Key cards do not have to be returned upon checkout. We recommend that you make arrangements for transportation to the airport prior to your scheduled time and date of departure.
Persons flying to the 2014 Honors Institute at Washington University should fly into the St. Louis, Missouri, airport (STL). Phi Theta Kappa has contracted special airline discounts available for 2014 Honors Institute travel.
Travel with American Airlines and receive a 5% discount off the lowest applicable published air fare. Secure the discount online, choose More Flight Search Options and insert the promotion code 3164EE in the appropriate box; or, call the American Airlines Meeting Services Desk at 800.433.1790. A $25 service charge applies for reservations by phone. This discount is valid for up to five days before and after the event dates.
Delta Airlines offers discounts ranging from 2% to 10% depending on the fare type booked. Contact Delta at 800.328.1111 or book online to receive your discount. When booking online, select Meeting Event Code and enter the meeting code NM4HD in the appropriate box on the Search Flight page.
Beginning on April 1, 2014, Honors Institute attendees will receive a discount and bonus Rapid Reward points from Southwest Airlines through our SWABIZ® account. Southwest Airlines is offering a 10% discount off Anytime & Business Select® fares and a 5% discount off select Wanna Get Away® fares for travel to and from the conference. Book your travel between April 1, 2014 and May 31, 2014, to take advantage of the discounted rates. (Discounts are available for travel June 14 through June 25.)

Reservations MUST be made online to receive the discounted rate. Walk-ups will not be eligible for the discounted rate, standard rates will apply. Visit the shuttle service website and begin your reservation to reserve a seat. The discounted rate of $15 one way or $29 round trip per person is offered. Credit cards are required and charged at the time of reservation.
Parking at Washington University is $20.00 for a five-day hang tag permit. Saturday and Sunday are complimentary. Hang tag permits are not allowed in the Danforth University Center Underground Garage or in metered spaces. In order to have a hang tag available for your vehicle, you will need to reserve a parking pass on your Honors Institute registration form and it will be reserved in your name. You can pick this up when you pick up your Honors Institute Registration. Payment is cash only. Daily parking passes may be picked up at the campus bookstore in Mallinckrodt Center. Daily parking passes may also be purchased here for $5.00 per day.
