"Trash Talk" Teaches Children to Protect Environment

Attention chapters: Plan to involve youth in your Operation Green activities in the coming academic year. Phi Theta Kappa members at Northeast Mississippi Community College tried "talking trash" to local elementary school students this spring, as part of the chapter's participation in the International Service Program, Operation Green: Improving Our Communities. Chapter members met with a fourth grade class to discuss ways to reduce the amount of trash, and used a "trash bingo" game to teach the young people about renewable and non-renewable natural resources. Enroll your chapter as a Chapter of Service.
