19 Members Chosen for Prestigious Washington, D.C., Internships

Twenty Phi Theta Kappa members will be spending eight weeks in Washington, D.C, this summer, filling coveted intern positions at 12 federal agencies and educational consortiums. The 19 interns were selected by application. Nominees for the 2000 All-USA Academic Team, and Phi Theta Kappa's 1999-2000 International Officers, were eligible to apply for the internships. Since its inception, the Phi Theta Kappa Intern Program has been recognized for the significant projects in which interns engage. Additionally, Phi Theta Kappa provides a series of Educational Forums, six afternoons filled with special cultural and educational opportunities outside the workplace exclusively for the interns. Interns also make a formal presentation at the intern graduation luncheon, providing findings or presenting outcomes associated with their summer work projects.
