All-State Teams Announced in 11 States
Students named to the 2009 All-State Academic Teams in Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin are announced this week. Students nominated to the national All-USA/All-State Academic Teams are automatically named to the All-State Academic Teams and are eligible for stipends provided by Coca-Cola. Ranking on the All-State teams is generally determined by the student's score in the national competition. All-State Academic Team recognition ceremonies are most often held in the state capital with legislators, education leaders, and corporate leaders attending. All-State Team members receive special recognition at these ceremonies including medallions and certificates and may include stipends and scholarships.
