Personal Contact Earns Pinnacle Awards in Maryland

Personal contact has increased membership acceptance for the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the Community College of Baltimore, and earned the chapter both Silver and Platinum honors in the Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program. Advisor Linda Gronberg-Quinn said that current members promoted membership to prospective members. The advisor also speaks to her classes about Phi Theta Kappa, and visited other classes to talk directly to eligible students. Gronberg-Quinn has established a faculty sponsorship program to assist students with membership fees. Informational fliers are distributed to ensure that all students understand the benefits of membership. The chapter will receive a $100 scholarship and a complimentary registration to the 2006 International Convention.
