Three More Colleges Participate in Readership Program
St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley Campus in Missouri, Central
Lakes College in Minnesota and Columbia State Community College in Tennessee
are the newest institutions to enroll in the Community
College Readership Program, which promotes civic
engagement and an informed citizenry by making newspapers available
to students. Participating colleges use the newspapers as classroom tools
and to promote group discussions. Resources to aid chapters in funding
and promoting the Community College Readership Program are available
online.
Participation in the program benefits the Leaders
of Promise Scholarship Fund, fulfills some Five
Star Chapter Development Program requirements and can be included
in Scholarship and Leadership Hallmark
Award entries. For enrollment information contact USA
TODAY at 1.800.872.3415, ext. 3187.
