Visibility Earns Platinum, Silver Awards for Alabama Chapter

The Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Faulkner State Community College in Alabama is among the first to receive a Pinnacle Platinum Award, which carries a complimentary registration to the 2007 International Convention. The chapter has also earned a Pinnacle Silver Award and a $100 scholarship. Advisor Lena Dexter said that the chapter uses various strategies to be sure that Phi Theta Kappa is very visible on their campus. Letters of invitation are signed by the college president, Dr. Gary Branch, and include a "Good as Gold" Membership Benefits Brochure. Two orientations are scheduled for prospective members, one in the morning during a class break period and another in the evening. Phi Theta Kappa information is posted on the college website. Induction ceremonies are held on Sunday afternoons and are followed by a reception, to which family and friends of new members are invited. Photographs from the induction are also prominently placed on the college website for family members unable to attend. Enroll your chapter in the Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program and check your progress online.
