Second Honors Seminar Airs October 7

Phi Theta Kappa's second Honors Seminar airs October 7. Dr. Raquel Rivera Pinderhughes will discuss green collar jobs and the scholar's responsibility to the community. Subscription information can be found online. To attract a crowd for their showing of the first Honors Seminar featuring Dr. Richard Heinzl, the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Hillsborough Community College in Florida utilized creative marketing tools. The chapter produced a flier that highlighted the study questions posted online. Members invited community members and fellow Phi Theta Kappa members they met at regional conferences. Chapter members also featured information about the Honors Seminar on MySpace, Facebook, and in email messages. Their marketing innovation resulted in increased participation in the chapter's Honors Seminar and moderated discussion afterwards.
