Flexibility Results in Pinnacle Gold for Guam Chapter

Flexibility has brought a 2005 Pinnacle Gold Award and a $100 scholarship to the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at faraway Guam Community College. According to advisor Kelly Sukola, the chapter allows new members to pay fees over an extended period of time. This academic year the college is implementing a "Sponsor a Scholar" program that will allow faculty, businesses, alumni or others to make a donation that would offset the membership fees of a student. Chapter members are also allowed to make presentations concerning the value of membership in their classes. Phi Theta Kappa's Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program recognizes chapters and regions for enhancing their membership acceptance strategies as measured by the number of new members reported.
