Malcolm Gladwell to Address 2012 Annual Convention

Malcolm Gladwell, author of The Tipping Point and Outliers, will speak at the Third General Session of Phi Theta Kappa's 2012 Annual Convention. Gladwell, who is known for interpreting new ideas and presenting them in a context to promote success, will address aspects of the new Honors Study Topic, The Culture of Competition.
His book, Outliers: The Story of Success, looks at various career fields, including education, music, sports and business, to frame a new approach to help people succeed.
Outliers: The Story of Success, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference and Gladwell's other books, Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking and What the Dog Saw: And Other Adventures, have all been New York Times bestsellers.
Gladwell is a staff writer for the New Yorker magazine. He was previously a reporter for the Washington Post.
Gladwell was chosen for Foreign Policy's Top 100 Global Thinkers 2010 and 2009 list and is ranked number ten on The Thinkers 50 for 2011. And he was included in Newsweek's "Top 10 New Thought Leaders of the Decade. In 2005, Time Magazine named Gladwell one of its 100 Most Influential People.
The Third General Session begins at 2:00 pm Friday, April 13.
