700 Students Sign the Pledge in Illinois
Tuesday, November 22, 2011
Students at Kankakee Community College in Illinois pledge to complete their college credentials.
Over two days in late October, nearly 700 Kankakee Community College students signed a pledge to complete their degrees and certifications before leaving community college for transfer or to enter the job market. The signing event was hosted by the Alpha Delta Eta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Life Office at Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, Illinois.
Students from other clubs and organizations were posted at various locations to invite students to sign large banners, and to provide information about the value of college completion.
The Alpha Delta Eta Chapter led efforts to raise awareness of the importance of college completion not only for students but for colleges and the communities they serve.
The chapter advisors will continue to collect signatures to the pledges to complete a college credential through the end of the fall semester.
Tell us about your chapter's college completion event.
