55 Phi Theta Kappa Members Receive National Dean's List Scholarships
Fifty-five Phi Theta Kappa members have been selected to receive the Society's
2005 National Dean's List Scholarships. They represent all 50 states,
the District of Columbia, Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana
Islands. One international student was also chosen to represent the Society's
members from other countries.
The
National Dean's List is a prestigious compilation of honor students
in two-year and four-year degree programs. By virtue of membership in Phi
Theta Kappa, all new inductees are automatically nominated for the National
Dean's List. All 55 recipients are chosen by random search to receive a $250
scholarship.
"I feel very honored to have been selected. I plan
to put the money toward student loans I took to pay for tuition," said recipient
Shawn Ebeling, a Phi Theta Kappa member from Minnesota. "I plan to graduate
in December and receiving this scholarship has helped further motivate
me to pursue my bachelor's degree after graduation."
