Four Advisors Receive Who's Who Among America's Teachers Scholarships
Four Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors have been chosen as recipients of
the 2007 Who's Who Among America's Teachers Scholarships of $250 each.
They include Mary Thompson, Sussex County Community College, New Jersey;
Jennifer Goodin, Ivy Tech Community College - Madison Campus, Indiana;
Mavonne Gansen, Northeast Iowa Community College, Iowa; and Jean Mach,
College of San Mateo, California.
Chapter advisors with at
least two years of service are nominated for inclusion in Who's Who Among
America's Teachers, a publication recognizing premier educators.
Four advisors representing Phi Theta Kappa's four geographic divisions
are selected annually to receive the $250 stipends. All four of this year's
recipients have served as Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors since 2005.
Phi Theta Kappa also nominates members to The National Dean's
List, published annually by Educational Communications Inc. Who's
Who Among America's Teachers, a sister publication, was first published
in 1990 as the premier publication honoring the nation's most respected
educators. Phi Theta Kappa nominated more than 400 chapter advisors reaching
two years of service to Who's Who in recognition of the leadership and support
they provide for their chapters and colleges, and the impact they make in
the lives of their students.
Advisors who responded to the Who's
Who biographical questionnaire, will be included in the 2007 publication.
From those respondents, four outstanding advisors were selected to receive
a $250 stipend in recognition of their service. These stipends are provided
by Educational Communications Inc. and Phi Theta Kappa.
