It's not too late to subscribe
to the 2007 Honors
Satellite Seminar Series and bring four dynamic seminars on the
Honors Study Topic,
Gold, Gods and Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power, to your campus.
The Satellite Seminar Series is still available via online video download
and web stream until January 7, 2008.
New to the Series this year,
Phi Theta Kappa is offering the seminars via online video download and web
stream. These options will be useful for showing seminars at times that
work for your campus, sharing the seminars among faculty on your campus,
and showing them during chapter meetings or classes. Chapters are encouraged
to integrate the Satellite Seminars into a comprehensive scholarship
program and develop projects and activities that continue study of the
Honors Study Topic. The Series could also be used to enhance the instruction
of courses in numerous fields of study including international relations,
anthropology, sociology, history and political science. Colleges may
wish to invite local high school scholars and campus and community groups
to join in the discussions about current issues and how they affect society.
The Series is a perfect tool to attract students and promote community involvement
in your college.
Opportunities for utilizing the Honors Satellite
Seminars are endless. For more ideas be sure to check out the Phi Theta Kappa
Honors Study Topic website
or contact Director of Honors Programs Susan
Edwards at 601.984.3541.
