The Alpha Psi Mu Chapter at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology
in Pennsylvania recently raised funds for a variety of organizations
through several Bake Sales. Members promoted the fundraiser by e-mail,
posting flyers and posters on campus and word of mouth. Members decorated
tables with tablecloths, decorations, novelty signs and chairs. The chapter
raised $800! Good work, Alpha Psi Mu!
The Alpha Chi Tau Chapter
at Wallace State Community College - Hanceville in Alabama
collected canned goods and children's books at their graduation in support
of Project Graduation.
A week prior to graduation chapter members placed collection bins in various
buildings on campus and distributed posters and flyers on campus. Chapter
members also set up tables to distribute information and used large banners
to promote the project during the graduation rehearsal. Over 1000 canned
food items and 125 children's books were collected and donations were given
to Cullman Caring for Kids, a division of United Way of Cullman County. Way
to go, Alpha Chi Tau!
The Beta Delta Beta Chapter at Dekalb
Technical College in Georgia recently hosted a Wipe Out Wireless
Waste fundraising raffle during their annual spring fling to promote environmentally
safe ways to discard wireless waste. The chapter teamed up with their Student
Government Association to promote the raffle by sending emails and posting
flyers on campus encouraging individuals to bring old wireless products.
Chapter members also contacted various local businesses such as Applebee's
to donate prizes. Sprint, Nextel and ReCellular supplied pre-paid postage
labels to mail the wireless items. Over 100 people were informed and several
wireless items were collected along with money for the fundraiser. Good
job, Beta Delta Beta!
