Texas Chapter Increases Membership Acceptance
The Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter at Blinn College - Bryan Campus in Texas recently explored new ways to increase membership acceptance. This semester, the chapter sent potential new members e-mails inviting them to accept membership online. The idea was presented to them on the recent "Ten Proven Ways to Increase Membership Acceptance" informational piece the chapter received with the latest recruiting materials. Through PAM - Personal Assistant Manager for advisors, they were able to generate passcodes and mailing labels for potential new members who had not joined online or submitted an application. Each potential new member received a personalized email with their unique passcode encouraging them to review the benefits of membership and accept membership online. In only 24 hours, their membership acceptance grew by 50 percent! Way to go, Alpha Phi Lambda!

Several locations on campus were selected to sell and collect donations. Within six hours, $300 was raised for breast cancer awareness. Great job, Beta Alpha Upsilon!

Maryland Chapter Aids in the Efforts of The Salvation Army
The Alpha Psi Psi Chapter at Carroll Community College in Maryland sponsored a Dress a Bear project in conjunction with the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army donated 130 teddy bears to be dressed with children's clothing and later distributed as Christmas gifts to children in need. Students, faculty and staff donated money and baby clothes to dress the new teddy bears. Chapter members and advisors were available to assist patrons with dressing the bears, accept donations and serve hot chocolate and candy canes. The event was promoted through the local newspaper, email and posters. The event was a success with 108 dressed teddy bears to be given back to the Salvation Army to distribute as Christmas presents for children in need. Keep up the good work, Alpha Psi Psi!
